Jalandhar : The Revolutionary Marxist Party of India (RMPI) is organising a JATHA MARCH in Punjab from Nov. 12 to 21 to awaken and arouse the people against anti-people policies of the Central and State governments. An announcement to this effect was made in a press conference, here today, by Com. Mangat Ram Pasla, General Secretary of the Party. The Theme of this March is : “Lok Jagao-Luterey Bhajao”.
Com. Pasla stated that on 12th Nov., two teams of Party leaders will start the Jatha March from Jalianawala Bagh, Amritsar at 12.30 P.M. Com. Gurnam Singh Daud, Central Committee Member of the party will lead one Jatha, which will address nearly 30 big conferences alongwith holding dozens of village level meetings in the districts of Taran Taran, Moga, Ferozepur, Faridkot, Mukatsar Sahib, Fazilka, Bathinda, Mansa, Sangrur, Patiala, Ludhiana and Barnala. Where as the second Jatha, led by Com. Pasla, himself will cover the Amritsar, Gurdaspur, Pathankot, Hoshiarpur, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, Ropar, Mohali, Jalandhar and Kapurthala districts and hold several meetings as well as 35 big conference to prepare the people for participation in the Massive Adhikar Rally, shedulded to be held at Jalandhar on December 10.
Com. Pasla stated that this Jatha March is aimed at awakening and organising the people for the intensification of the mass struggles against the anti-people policies of the present governments, as these policies are the root cause of all the major problems of the people such as poverty, unemployment, rising prices, under nourishment, corruption etc. Alongwith it, this statewide action may cultivate the possibilities of developing a Left Democratic political alternative to the present pro-corporates Akali-BJP combination and Congress Party in Punjab.
Com. Pasla further stated that through this constant ten day programme of action, the Party will also make the people vigilant against the rising communal tensions in the country. He alleged that the Sangh-Parivar is continiously spreading poison by raising communal issues and have thus inflicted heavy blows to the National unity and communal harmony. But the Modi government, which is covertly implementing the dictates of RSS, is encourging these communal-fascist hoodlums instead of checking this mobocracy. On the other hand, the pro-corporate policies of this government, especially ill-thought and ill-advised steps like demonetisation and GST have played havoc with the small business enterprises and employment avenues in general. It has resulted in steep increase in the socio-economic problems of the people. This govt., led by Mr. Narinder Modi, in its four years regime, has not only saffornised the admnistrative, security and educational structeres in the country, but has also diluted and degraded the credibility of the independent constitutional institutions such as Judiciary, CBI, Central Election Commission and RBI, through its unwarranted interventions, directed towords narrow political gains. This is the reason for the growing anarchistic environment in the country.
Commenting on the performance of the Congress government in Punjab, leaders of the RMPI said that the Amrinder Singh led government has betrayed all the promises made with the people in the election manifesto of Congress Party. They said that the people were sick of the 10 Years mis-rule of Akali-BJP alliance because of their corruption, exploitation and high handed approach towards opposition. And, they had high hopes from the new govt. But this new dispensation miserably failed to giving any solace to the people. On the other hand, it had increased the miseries of the people by increasing tax-burden, electricity tarrif and bus fares etc. It has further accelrrated the resentment amongest the masses. The rising struggles of Teachers, Employees. peasantry, agricultre labourers and all other sections of working class are a clear pointer to this dangrous state of affaiss. This Congress govt. has also failed in overcoming its admnistrative weekness, and for its narrow political motives, it is providing encoragement to the extremists elements, who are waiting to re engulf the State into dreadful days of Khalistani terrorism.
The Revolutionary Marxist party of India (RMPI), through this Jatha March, will awaken the masses on all these issues and call upon them to strive for the devolopment of a left democratic alternative in Punjab.
State Secretary, RMPI Com. Harkanwal Singh, CC Member Com. Gurnam Singh Daud, CC Member Com. Kulwant Singh Sandhu were also present in press confrence.
