New Delhi, 31 January (Sangrami Lehar Bureau)- Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) expressed its concern about the fact that more than a hundred persons are still reported to be missing after the Republic Day Parade. It is now seeking to compile information on such missing persons following which formal action can be initiated with the authorities. A committee has been formed to look into the issues, this committee includes Prem Singh Bhangu, Rajinder Singh Deep Singh Wala, Avtar Singh, Kiranjit Singh Sekhon and Bajleet Singh. Any information on missing persons can be shared with 8198022033 with full name of the missing person, full address, phone number of the person and any other contact number at home and missing from when.
Samyukt Kisan Morcha condemned the arrests of journalists like Mandeep Punia and others on false and fabricated charges, out of the government’s great fear of being exposed for its real conspiracy and out of fear of the rising strength of the farmers’ movement.
SKM also condemned the attack of the government on the farmers’ movement in cutting off internet services of different protest sites. The government does not want the real facts to reach protesting farmers, nor their peaceful conduct to reach the world. It wants to spread its false spin around farmers. It is also fearful of the coordinated work of the farmers’ unions across different protest sites and is trying to cut off communication means between them. This is undemocratic and illegal.
SKM also questioned the cordoning off of the protest sites from a long distance disallowing ordinary people and media personnel from reaching Singhu Border. This is also to disrupt basic supplies like food and water. “All these various attacks of the government are recognised by us as such, and we condemn the same”, said SKM in a press statement.
Despite of multiple attempts of violence by police and government, farmers are still debating on three farm laws and MSP. We want to clarify it to all the concerned citizens that Delhi Morcha are safe and peaceful.
We regret to share the sad news of the death of one more protestor from Maharashtra who took part in the Shahjahanpur struggle today. Shayra Pawara was just 21 years old and her sacrifice will be remembered and will not go wasted.
SKM notes that the Sadbhavana Diwas announced yesterday was marked in a widespread manner across the country and in Madhya Pradesh, places like Rewa, Mandsaur, Indore, Gwalior, Jhabua and other locations had a fast undertaken by protestors. Concerned faculty members and scholars of Punjab Agriculture University also observed one day fast in support of farmers.
Farmers in large numbers from Rajasthan and Haryana are reaching to Shahjahanpur border. The morcha is getting stronger day by day. New groups of protesting farmers have reached Singhu Border and Tikri Border too, while Ghazipur protest site is getting stronger with each day passing.
