RMPI strongly condemned the central and state governments for their negligence and corruption in dealing with the floods

Jalandhar : Revolutionary Marxist Party (R.M.P.I.) will hold massive protests at district centers on September 26 to demand adequate compensation for flood victims and to force the central and state governments to take responsibility. This decision was made during a meeting of the party’s Punjab State Committee, led by Ratan Singh Randhawa, with National General Secretary Mangat Ram Pasla and State Secratery Pargat Singh Jamarai in attendance.

The meeting strongly condemned the central and state governments for their negligence and corruption in dealing with the floods, which have caused immense loss of life and property in Punjab and other parts of the country. The party criticized the Punjab government’s relief package for ignoring the most vulnerable sections of society, such as landless laborers and Dalits.

The party demanded that the central government provide a relief package of at least ₹25,000 crore for the rehabilitation of flood victims in Punjab. They also criticized the Prime Minister’s relief package as inadequate and inhumane.

The meeting expressed deep concern over the economic crisis in the country, which is having a devastating impact on the lives of working-class people. The Modi government has failed to address the crisis and instead is engaging in divisive politics and hollow rhetoric.

The party also condemned the RSS’s agenda of creating a fascist, theocratic, and casteist state, which would undermine India’s unity and secular fabric. They decided to intensify their campaign to alert people to the dangers of this agenda and to build a united and democratic movement against it.

The party also decided to launch a strong movement against the rampant drug trade, mafia loot, and police brutality in Punjab. They demanded the withdrawal of cases against journalists like Pronjoy Guha Thakurta, who have exposed the Adani group’s corruption.

The party appealed to the people of India to be vigilant against the dangers of fascism and to build a movement for a genuine political alternative based on pro-people policies.
