This move of Modi govt. is directed towards the abolition of the constitunal provision of reservation : Pasla

The Provision of 10% reservation for the economically backwards of general categories, in government services as well as for admission in educational institutions, is nothing but an electoral gimmick of the B.J.P. This comment is a part of the statement issued to the press by Com. Mangat Ram Pasla, General Secretary of Revolutionary Marxist Party of India (RMPI). He stated that, infact, this move of the Modi government amounts to the dilution of the visionary concept of the architects of the Indian Constitution, like Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar, who made this provision for those unfortunates in this country who had been despised, discriminated and deprived of al social givings and equalities, since thousands of years. Thus, this provision for reservation was simply to provide them the minimum social justic. But unfortunately, all the bourgeoise parties, both national and regional, have so for not implemented this provision whole-heartedly and in its true spirits. These parties have, rather made it a vote-catching-tool. That is why, instead of improving the living conditions of the majority of Dalits (S.C. and S.T.), it has trurned into a perenial source of unwarranted social conflicts.
Com. Pasla further stated that now when, under the neo-liberal policy of privatisation, the governments are rapidly abdicating all the public utility services and the public sector is being dismentalled bit-by bit, the govt. jobs are no where available. Therefore this election time lolipop is not likely to provide any relief to the 95% population of general categories which falls in this arena. Rather it will create unnecessary problems for them in seeking admissions etc.
He further stated that this move of the BJP, in its true essence, is directed towards the abolition of the constitunal provision of reservation, as has been openly demanded by the RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat, to further revive the nasty Manuwadi social order. That is why, this gimmakry of the govt. should be seen in its true colours and rebutted with full force.
