New Delhi, January 6 (Sangrami Lehar Bureau)- With Farmers planning a Republic Day Tractor Parade in Delhi, AIKSCC has called for farmer and tractor parades in all districts on January 26th. Meanwhile tomorrow plan for Tractor Rallies from all dharna sites is growing strong with large mobilizations gathering.
WG of AIKSCC has said that the Central Govt is non serious about talks and solving farmers’ problems. In the 7th round it finally stated clearly that it has “understood that the demand is for Repeal” and that it will have to undertake “further consultation”. Yet, since then, several ministers and BJP leaders are putting a spanner in the wheels.
Agriculture Minister announced he will be talking to other farmer Unions who support the laws. Already this exercise to manufacture support has been undertaken, achieving very poor response. Taking cue from the PM Modi, BJP leaders from MP and Punjab have said demands are unjustified.
While Sri Gadkari targeted the need to improve food production and feed India’s largely hungry population. He attacked MSP, saying it is higher than market rate, even when the govt says MSP will continue. Ministers should know that India is host to 33% of the worlds hungry people, double its population share. Niti Ayog members say Govt can’t buy and store food, while Govt’s says procurement will continue.
Meanwhile, as the Govt’s assurance on MSP gets louder, greater is the fall in paddy prices, now selling at Rs 900 – 1000 per quintal.
Meanwhile the Protestors at Rewari foiled the Haryana police attempt to create a rift between the protestors and locals. While the police continues to cordon off protestors, it had also blocked the opposite direction lanes to stop all traffic. Today morning truck drivers, protestors and locals cornered the police to open the other side of traffic and foiled its attempt to blame farmers.
Several other protests also have begun in support of the farmers’ demand. A sit in has begun with more than 500 tractors marching into Baraut area of Baghpat district. In Chennai a massive dharna was held and Tribal protests are planned in Odisha.
Meanwhile on the Call issued by the AIKSCC and the SKM several mass programs have been planned. People all over the country shall burn copies of the 3 Acts and EB 2020 on 13th and 14th, on occasion of Lori and Makar Sankranti; 18 shall be observed as Mahila Kisan Diwas; 23rd birth anniversary of Subhash Chandra Bose shall be observed; District and area sit ins and relay fasts shall continue.
