
Jalandhar: CPI, Revolutionary Marxist Party of India (RMPI), CPI (ML) New Democracy, CPI (ML) Liberation, MCPI (U) organized an impressive anti-war convention at ‘Desh Bhagat Yadgar Jalandhar’. This joint provincial convention, called to oppose the unjust war waged against Iran by the US-Israel warlords, was presided over by Sarva Sathi Rattan Singh Randhawa, Ajmer Singh Samra, Prithipal Singh Marimegha, Ruldu Singh Mansa, Naranjan Singh Safipur. Sathi Kulwinder Singh Waraich performed the duties of the stage manager.
All the friends Mangat Ram Pasla, Nirmal Dhaliwal, Darshan Khatkar, Sukhdarshan Natt, Jagtar Singh Janal addressed the gathering.
The speakers said that in violation of all international laws and treaties, the aggressive Trump and his nefarious accomplice Netanyahu have waged the said war out of greed to grab the oil and gas reserves and other precious natural and human resources of the countries of the entire Middle East region, including Iran, and to fulfill their expansionist plans. This war, which has claimed the lives of thousands of innocent people, including innocent children and women, has destroyed the economies of the entire world, has posed serious threats to world peace, and ordinary people around the world are suffering from severe shortages of essential goods, inflation and black marketing. They strongly demanded that the murderers of innocents, war criminals Trump and Netanyahu be given strict, exemplary punishments. The speakers strongly praised the protests being held by millions of ordinary people in countries around the world, including Israel and the US, against the war-mongering conspiracies of Trump-Netanyahu, and strongly appealed to the Indian people, especially the working class, to become a strong part of the aforementioned global mobilization.
He said that to end the ruthless exploitation of the natural and human resources and working people of countries around the world, especially the newly independent developing countries, and to liberate the world from deadly wars, and to create a world free from the most deadly enemy of humanity, imperialism, in every corner of the globe, it has become the first and most important need of the present era to wage a fiercer and fiercer people’s war. In this direction, peace-loving people and justice-loving parties will have to intensify their efforts to establish a permanent ceasefire between Iran and Israel-America and world peace. The speakers have highly praised the people of Iran for building strong popular resistance against war and warmongers. They also strongly condemned the Modi government, which, instead of supporting India in every difficult moment, has stood with the aggressors, diminishing the country’s self-respect and isolating India from the world community. The speakers have fully supported all the demands made by Iran, including compensation for its losses during the war, for a ceasefire.
The speakers have emphasized that every country in the world, including Iran, has the full right to protect its independence and sovereignty and that the people of the respective country will decide what kind of rule and government there will be. In this matter, Trump or any other cynical dictator like him cannot force any country, nor should any foreigner have the right to interfere in the internal affairs of another country.
In a separate resolution, the workers, who are fighting for a reasonable demand for an increase in minimum wages at centers like Noida, Manesar, etc., have been strongly condemned by the Modi-Yogi governments for their oppression and have demanded that the minimum wages be determined according to current needs, that the four labor codes be repealed, that the repealed labor laws be restored, and that the arrested workers be immediately released.
Condemning the termination of Punjab’s permanent membership from the Bhakra-Beas Management Board, there has also been a demand for the withdrawal of the notification issued by the central government in this regard.
At the end, a passionate march was also held, carrying red flags and placards depicting the horrors of war.
