RMPI Central Committee Demands Immediate and Unconditional Release of Sonam Wangchuk

Jalandhar: Revolutionary Marxist Party of India (RMPI) Chairman Comrade K. Gangadharan and General Secretary Comrade Mangat Ram Pasla, through a joint statement issued by the party’s Central Committee, have strongly condemned the Modi government at the Centre for arresting prominent intellectual and pro-people activist Sonam Wangchuk under the colonial-style oppressive law NSA. The leaders said that instead of finding the cause of the problem and its solution, the country’s rulers only do the work of sending those who raise their voices to jail. Even before this, it has been directly taken over by making it a UT.
Gangadharan and Pasla have also taken serious note of the barbaric police action in which Ladakhi residents were killed by firing. He has stressed that the policies and broken promises of the authoritarian-minded Modi government at the center are directly responsible for the deterioration of the situation in Ladakh. He has demanded the immediate release of Sonam Wangchuk, the fulfillment of all promises made to the people of Ladakh, and concrete steps to restore democracy to improve the situation. Comrade Gangadharan and Pasla have said that all the constitutional demands of the people of Ladakh should be accepted.
