Jalandhar, December 10 : At the conclusion of 3 day Central Committee meeting of the Revolutionary Marxist Party India (RMPI), nearly fifty thousand people who participated in a massive ‘Adhikar Rally’ held here, pledged to fight against the communal-fascist attacks of saffron brigade and neo-liberal policies of the government. This historic gathering of people, coming from every nook and corners of the province in Burlton Park, has given a clear message that toiling people have lost their patience and now they want a pro-people radical change. Addressing this massive ‘Adhikar Rally’, presided over by a presidium comprising comrades Rattan Singh Randhawa, Raghbir Singh, Neelam Ghuman, Darshan Nahar and Natha Singh, the Party General Secretary, Comrade Mangat Ram Pasla, said that under the leadership of Modi, the RSS has upsurped the entire constitutional structure of the country. Important institutions like the judiciary, the executive, the Reserve Bank and the Election Commission have gone under the control of RSS. There is no sphere or constitutional institution in which RSS has not intervened. He said that while fighting against the British empire, freedom fighters had dreamed of an Indian state based on secularism and equality. But today, the Modi government is functioning under strategic partnership with imperialist countries and is opening up the entire economy of the country for the predatory loot by multinational corporations. He said that under the leadership of Modi, the central government is nakedly implementing its communal-fascist agenda. Under the dictates of RSS this government is fast moving towards creating a theocratic state based on Hindutva. He said that in India raising a voice for basic and democratic rights has now become a crime. Those who dare to do this are threatened to be sent to Pakistan and Bangladesh and are being brutally attacked. Many such intellectuals and democratic activists have been jailed after registering false cases. This massive rally was also addressed by Party Chairman, Comrade K. Gangadharan (Tamil Nadu), Rajendra Pranjape, Tresurer (Maharashtra), Central Committee Members Comrades T. Kumarankutti (Kerala), Kulwant Singh Sandhu and Gurnam Singh Daud. MCPI(U) General Secretary, Comrade Mohammed Gaunse, gave a faternal message to the rally. Communist leaders criticised the govt. for its failure to control the rampant unemployment, inflation and corruption in the country. They said these evils are increasing due to the neo-liberal policies imposed by the Modi government on the people. Moreover due to these policies, health and education facilities have gone beyond the reach of people. Poor people are dying of malnourishment and hunger. Instead of addressing these real issues, the Modi is trying to detract the attention of masses towards communal issues like Ram Temple and cow protection, so that the BJP and its corrupt allies may recapture state power in 2019 elections. Speakers emphasized that for the sake of the unity of the country and for securing relief for the people from their economic woes it is necessary to defeat the Bharatiya Janata Party and its cotrie. The need of the hour is to unite left and democratic forces to fight communal-fascist forces and neoliberal policies. They emphasised that it is only possible by uniting left and democratic forces, on a plateform based on a minimum programme to fulfill this sacred duty of the hour. While addressing the Rally State Secretary Comrade Harkanwal Singh said that the people of the country are being robbed, working people are being looted, farmers are being robbed in the Mandi, people are being robbed by imposing unbearable taxes. There is need to fight for rights of farmers, for livelihood sustainable employment rights, free health services and equal rights to education for each and every citizen of the country. He said that without over throwing this capitalist system, solutions to these problems would not be possible. He also called upon people to struggle for the creation of a society free from gender discrimination. It was announced in the Rally by Comrade Mangat Ram Pasla that the Central Committee has decided to observe a week long programme from 30th January to 6th February by holding mass actions at district level for the realization of burning demands of the toiling people, and also organise seminars at the state level, in defence of secularism and democracy. A convention against the increasing atrocities on Dalits is also planned to be held at Delhi in the first half of March 2019. During the rally, the Party Chairman, Comrade K.Gangadharan also released the Hindi version of ‘Sangrami Lehar’ and hoped that this magazine of the Party will help in reaching larger sections of the people.
