Singhu Border, 5 May (Sangrami Lehar Bureao)- Today, a meeting of 32 farmer organizations of Punjab, the major organ of the Samyukta Kisan Morcha, was held on the Singhu border. State-level main leaders of all organizations were present in this meeting. The meeting was chaired by Baldev Singh Nihalgarh.
In a press conference after the meeting, farmer leader Balbir Singh Rajewal said that the central government has been failed to fight against the Corona pandemic. The government has failed to provide proper healthcare and basic facilities like oxygen, beds, medicines etc. to the citizens. Although the BJP is giving a big excuse that the farmers are spreading the corona, but here the farmers are taking necessary precautions and vaccinations. Governments are imposing lockdown (in various regions) to hide their failures and to take anti-people decisions. Due to this, the lives of farmers, labourers, shopkeepers and common citizens have been affected in a big way. It is the decision of 32 farmer unions of Punjab that on May 8, a large number of farmers, labourers, shopkeepers will come on the streets and protest against the lockdown.
Buta Singh Burjgil said that on May 10 and May 12, large groups of farmers from Punjab will leave for Delhi borders and the protest will be strengthened. Baldev Singh Nihalgarh said that the dharna of the farmers will always remain strong. The harvesting season is almost over and now the farmers will leave for Delhi in different batches.
According to farmer leader Satnam Singh Ajnala, the government wants to benefit the corporates under the guise of Corona. Decisions regarding the exploitation of farmers and workers were taken in lockdown as in Farm Laws and Labour codes. Bogh Singh Mansa said that in the state elections, farmers have expressed their anger and BJP has faced huge political loss.
Farmer leader Harinder Singh Lakhowal said that the government is known as the caretaker of life and property (Jaan-Maal), but leave the property, the government is not even taking care of the lives of the people. According to Balwinder Singh Raju, the government takes exploitative decisions under the guise of Corona and wants to snatch the land of farmers in this process.
Farmer leaders have said that they are always ready to talk to the government and they are completely optimistic about it. The government should stop maligning the farmers and initiate the talks with good intentions and in a good environment.
